HINGING

Photographs and works on paper have the widest range of framing options as they can be floated, top matted and in the case of contemporary photography, mounted and shadowboxed. Each piece is evaluated by our staff to determine the most reversible archival solution to display your artwork with museum level quality. We use 100% Cotton mat boards that are made from the purest form of natural cellulose, which require little processing, and are naturally acid free.

top mat

Choose from our selection of 100% cotton mat boards. The Mat will serve to lift the glass away from the artwork and protect from damage or ghosting that may be caused by the glass sitting on the artwork. We provided both 4 and 8 ply mats to give the bevel different depths. We carry many different brands and colours of mat board which allows us to match the tone of your piece. We can cut multiple windows to display multiple small piece in one frame.

Shadow box

If your artwork is mounted on a rigid substrate you can choose a shadowbox as your framing option. We use spacers to keep your artwork separated from the glass. We offer both mat spacers to match your artwork or wood spacers to match the frame to give you a clean uniform look.

FLOAT

Whether you want to display the edges of your artwork or your work is three-dimensional, floating may be the option for you. Hinged to an acid free mat with custom spacers to give depth to the framed piece will set it apart. We use archival methods when preparing your artwork for display

Reveal

While not all canvases should be framed, a simple reveal profile can do a lot to complete a contemporary painting without taking away from the work itself. Superframe offers a wide range of profiles in both seamless metal and wood to compliment any work of art, new and old.  We also offer a variety of solutions for paintings on surfaces like canvas board and MDF which can be framed like a canvas, supported with a strainer or put behind glass.

Framing

Our large selection of moldings include contemporary solid woods, both commercially–made and custom-milled, as well as a wide range of historical styles.

We specialize in custom milled, hardwood mouldings which we finish in a wide range of stains and lacquers. We mill and stock our most popular profiles in quantity to ensure the fastest possible turnaround, but also are able to design any custom profile with notice.

Our most commonly used woods are hard maple, rift cut oak, ash, walnut and cherry. We are also able to source most woods upon request

GLASS

We offer a wide variety of glazing to suit our clients needs from regular glass to Optium Museum Acrylic. Our most popular glass option is AGUV, offering 92% UV protection, while allowing 98% of the visible light to pass through giving you protection as well as anti-reflection without sacrificing clarity or colour. The glass is scratch-resistant and can be easily cleaned with a microfiber cloth and an appropriate cleaning solution. Optium Museum Acrylic offers the most protection with a 99% UV filter. It also offers anti-glare and shatter resistance which can make it perfect for a piece that will be shipped.
